The Paradox of Right and Wrong
When we as people are faced with a decision we try to make a “right” choice based on the factors that we are aware of, and try to predict the most favorable possible future outcome.
The more future outcomes we attach to an individual choice, the more likely we are to become overwhelmed and get stuck in decision paralysis, and the more likely we are to be dissatisfied, no matter which choice we make.
We as people are full of biases. When we make a decision that has unforeseen negative impacts, we have a tendency that assume that the other outcome wouldn’t have had these results and would have automatically been better.
The simple truth is that we as humans cannot predict the future, we don’t know what we don’t know. There is no right or wrong choice, when we have unforeseen negative impacts, they are just part of our learning processes, so we can be more informed as we continue to move forward.
It is more important to develop your skill to deal with things as they come up, than it is to try and make every single choice correctly. Once you are confident in your ability to handle anything that comes your way, you entirely eliminate the paradox of right and wrong.
